1. Tumblr has been nurturing in two ways: the staff and the readers. Even though I have no “connections” to Tumblr, the staff have all nudged me forward in my journey. Every silly e-mail I’ve sent has been handled quickly and courteously, and everyone from editorial to the founder have supported me through posting my work or simply pressing a button to “like” it.

Readers are just as interactive. Those without Tumblr accounts don’t realize that the site lives on a dashboard, which has a feed just like Twitter or Facebook. That encourages more reposting, social interaction, and a feeling of community. In turn, because any comments appear on a person’s own blog, the vast majority of interactions are positive.
